CARL Macauley's Motormen travel to Hilton Park, home of Leigh RMI, on Friday night in another crucial Nationwide Conference North fixture, as they continue their battle against relegation.

Without a win in nine games, Vauxhall were forced to settle for another drawn game, this time against former Football League club Scarborough at Rivacre Park on Saturday, despite having the better of what few chances were on offer.

When striker Lee Furlong, back from suspension, fired the Motormen in front on the hour mark, it looked like they were on course to end their winless run. But just four minutes later, the Seadogs were back on level terms, with an equally smart goal from Chris Thompson.

It then took a brilliant double save from Borough goalkeeper Mark Wilberforce to deny first Tom Field and then Furlong in quick succession. The 1-1 draw leaves the Motormen still in 18th place, but just three points better off than the club occupying the last relegation slot.

Sandwiched in between, and just a point behind Macauley's side, are Leigh, their opponents on Friday night. And, to make matters worse, Vauxhall will be without both midfielders Mike Garrity and Tom Field through suspension, as they look to clinch a vital victory to ease their fears.
