THERE was an abundance of sunshine but precious little wind as West Kirby and Hoylake Sailing Clubs completed their tidal racing programmes for the season at the weekend.
On the Dee Estuary Mike Hartley in Harrier won twice in the Falcons but the series was taken by Hawk owned by John Burthem.
Stella owned by Bruce Watkin and partners won the last Star race and with it the series.
In the Hilbres the series went to Hirondelle sailed by Gemima Riley who also lifted the final series.
Racing at Hoylake covered two days. Andrew Stratton won twice in the Operas in Silvana and there were also victories for Stephen Stratton in Fidelio and Gavin Melling in La Tosca.
Fidelio claimed the last two series.
Latest winners on the Mersey in the LiverpoolYacht Club/Tranmere Sailing Club events were AdamKyffin's Eazi Tiger in IRC Class One and Di Rich owned by Messrs Hare and Pratt in Class Two.
