Hyde United . . . . . . 0

Vauxhall Motors . . . . 1VAUXHALL Motors warmed up for their attractive FA Trophy first round replay with Kidderminster Harriers this Saturday at Rivacre Park (kick-off 3pm) by ending 2006 on a winning note, thanks to a 57th minute strike by Tom Field, his first Nationwide Conference North goal of the season, to clinch a hard-earned 1-0 success over improved Hyde United.

Manager Carl Macauley rung the changes for this match, having conceded far too many goals of late and his plan worked to perfection, as they ended their recent winless run and kept a clean sheet into the bargain.

It was no more than the Motormen deserved, especially after recent hard-luck stories in their two previous home fixtures, when they played decent attacking football with little reward.

Now all attention switches to Saturday's tilt against their full-time Conference National opponents Kidderminster, following Motors' incredible comeback at their ground in the original tie which ended 4-4, thanks to a dramatic injury time equaliser from Lee Furlong.

The winners visit Exeter City in the second round the following weekend.
