Kidderminster Harriers . . . 4

Vauxhall Motors . . . . . . . . 4EVEN by their extraordinary powers of recovery this season, Carl Macauley's Vauxhall Motors defied all the odds to force a thoroughly deserved home replay with Conference National full-timers Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday at the impressive Aggborough Stadium.

The Motormen were 3-0 down after just 30 minutes, but they kept playing smart football, were rewarded with a goal before the break via the head of Lee Furlong and continued the revival on the resumption.

Tom Field reduced the arrears with a spectacular volley and then Joe McMahon headed a 56th minute equaliser. But when Harriers regained the lead with 16 minutes left, it seemed the Motormen had little left.

But they rescued the tie deep in injury time, Furlong striking again, to the absolute delight of the small travelling contingent.

It was a five-star come-back to end all come-backs and man-of-the-match John Lawless had a hand in three of Motors' goals.

The Motormen return to Conference North action on Boxing Day, at home to high-riding Droylsden (kick-off 3pm), before welcoming Hyde United to Rivacre Park, Eastham, on Saturday, December 30.
