KARL Noon scored twice in the first half as the Motormen strolled to victory at Kirklands.

The first was scored after just six minutes when Noon capitalised on a mix-up in the Lairds defence and calmly slotted the ball home from ten yards out.

On the half-hour, Motors doubled their advantage when an unnamed trialist skipped past two challenges before hitting a crisp right footed effort from outside the area which went in off the left hand post.

Just before the interval, Noon was given plenty of space in the penalty area to rifle home from eight yards out to give Motors a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Both teams made wholesale changes in the second half and despite good passing play from both sides, neither could find a goal.

Ashley Stott came closest on 65 minutes when his close range effort beat the keeper but hit the post and the rebound was cleared to safety.

Meanwhile, Motors manager Carl Macauley has added two new players to his squad in the form of forwards Lloyd Ellams and Matthew Kosylo.

22-year-old centre-forward Ellams arrives at Rivacre Park from Welsh side Conwy Borough subject to international clearance.

He started his career with Chester City. He has experience of Conference North from a loan spell at Droylsden and a two season stay at Stalybridge Celtic.

Kosylo has been on trial with Motors during pre-season and has impressed enough to be offered a place in the squad.

He arrives at Motors following a spell at Ashton United. Prior to that, he had been at Stockport County and Salford City. He can play out wide or as a central striker.

This Saturday, August 3, Motors are at home to Prestatyn Town, with a 3pm kick-off, and then conclude their pre-season fixtures away to Prescot Cables on Tuesday, August 6, kick-off will be at 7.30pm.
