Redditch United . . . 3
Vauxhall Motors . . . 3THE never-say-die attitude in the Motors camp was there for all to see again on Saturday, as Carl Macauley's side fought back from going 3-0 behind in the 52nd minute to claim a point from this Conference North fixture.
Redditch, flatteringly, held a 2-0 lead at the break and there seemed no way back for the Motormen, but undeterred they kept pushing forward.
John Lawless volleyed home their first goal on 59 minutes. Substitute Lee Furlong then headed them closer on 68 minutes and, 15 minutes from time, Lawless struck a delightful lob for the equaliser.
But incredibly, though the Redditch 'keeper was sent-off just two minutes later, denying another Motors attack, they found stand-in keeper Softley a tough nut to crack.
On Saturday, the Motormen have an attractive FA Trophy tie against Worksop Town at Rivacre Park (kick-off 3pm).
