NEW Brighton's Marine Lake has now been fully refilled and restored after an intense cleaning operation.

The lake was drained and cleared of shopping trolleys and bicycles in December as part of the on-going development in the seaside town.

Excess silt was also used to fill in the 'dips' to prepare for future changes.

And last week, valves were opened in the sea wall to fill the lake just in time for the summer holidays.

Rob Mason, development director of Neptune Developments, said: "We are very pleased to be handing back the restored Marine Lake to the New Brighton community. We sure that the lake will be even more popular now than it was before, thanks to the intensive clean.”
