ROBBIE Fitzpatrick continued his rich vein of form to collect another winner's prize in Sunday's Birkenhead Park Open Bowls Flyers - and in doing so he collected enough points to take him clear at the top of the players' league.

RESULTS: Quarter Finals: R. Fitzpatrick 21, J. Roberts 18; J. Fitzpatrick 10, R. Jones 21; D. Gilmore 21, J. Hignett Jnr 13; M. Andrews 21, S. Williams 16. Semi Finals: R. Fitzpatrick 21, R. Jones 13; D. Gilmore 18, M. Andrews 21. Final: R. Fitzpatrick 21, M. Andrews 7.

The Sunday morning Flyers continue to attract a good number of entries. Bowlers wishing to take part in them are welcome to participate, subject to the necessary entry and registration fees (£2 and £3.50 respectively). You will need to arrive and enter before 10am, at which time the draw is made.

q Wirral Bowling Referees Society is running a four-week course for bowlers interested in qualifying to become an official.

The course, at Cammell Laird Sports & Social Club, starts on Tuesday, March 7, (7.15pm) and is open to both men and women. Details from Syd Taylor on 327-3536.
