WIRRAL West MP Stephen Hesford joined Alun Hughes, chief executive of the Wirral Methodist Housing Association on a visit to a new sheltered housing scheme in Woodchurch.
Visiting the site of the new Whitefield Close, formerly Houghton Court, Mr Hesford was shown the 35 new homes. These two- and three-bedroom properties have been built on land provided free by Wirral council and will house those most in need.
Mr Hughes explained how the £1.36 million investment replaced the 40-year-old blocks of derelict flats on the site.
Speaking at Whitefield Close, Mr Hesford said: "I very much welcome this housing initiative and the involvement by Wirral council to assist Wirral Methodist Housing Association is creating new homes in Woodchurch for those in the greatest need."
