IF 'Surprised' (Mailbox, June 23) had bothered to check with his or her local primary school, I am sure he/she would have found that the staff were in school on the day of the elections.
Every school has to take the same number of 'training days' each year, so putting two of them together minimises the disruption for pupils.
It is a pity that 'Surprised' could not put his/her address to the letter, and let the local school answer for themselves!
