From Mrs I. Tasker:-
ON alternate Tuesdays, a carrier arrives on our estate (pensioners). It supposedly collects waste paper.
Almost everyone on an estate of 53 dwellings, buys newspapers, but every bungalow has a long path. The papers have to be left at the kerb edge.
It is impossible for elderly people to drag them there - surely it's not difficult for two fit young collectors to walk up to the vestibule?
Now, my bag of at least 36 newspapers each fortnight goes in the bin!
A little thought could result in the collection of at least 50 times more papers.
