A LETTER purporting to be from "Mr Mick Farley, of Claughton Firs, Birkenhead" was published in good faith in Mailbox in the June 23 edition of the Wirral Globe.
We wish to make it unequivocably clear that Mr Farley, of Hanover Close, Claughton, was not the author of what would, in fact, appear to be a malicious letter.
We apologise unreservedly to Mr Farley. Improved methods for checking the authenticity of letters have now been instigated and these may affect the topicality of letters published.
