FAST lady Paula Cook, only woman in the tough Touring Car Championship and sponsored by the Globe, continues to hang on in there with the men.

Thompson in a Honda Accord won Round 13 while Cook in her DC Cook Honda finished 14th out of 15 in a race which top names like Reid and Menu were not classified.

Rydell in a Volvo won Round 14 while Cook was lucky to finish 13th at the back in another tough race in which Menu and Cleland were not classified.

Rounds 15 and 16 at Snetterton on July 17. In the Seat Jim Clark Memorial Rally, Laukkanen in a Renault won while Vauxhall's Neil Wearden in an Astra battled into a top five place.

Motor sport comes to New Brighton, on Saturday July 14, with the MTM Prom Stages Rally hosted by Wallasey Motor Club and Wirral Leisure Department.

This round of the Welsh Tarmacadam Rally gets underway on Friday night, July 23, with scrutineering at New Brighton. Marshalls wanted, they receive a rally gift.
