TRANMERE'S first team squad resumed pre-season training on Friday. The Prenton Park club sends two teams to Runcorn and Skelmersdale on Saturday (both 3pm) before entertaining Division Two club Preston North End at Prenton Park on Friday, July 16.

After that, Rovers head off to Douglas to take part in the week-long Isle of Man Tournament. They start with a match against Wrexham on Tuesday, July 20 and the next day take on Stockport, both in Douglas with 3pm kick-offs. Depending on their success or otherwise, Rovers could figure in the tournament Play-off on Friday, July 23 or the Final 24 hours later.

Tranmere return to prepare for a 'friendly' against Pat Nevin's Motherwell at Prenton Park on Tuesday, July 27 (7.45pm).

Rovers' final pre-season match is on Saturday, July 31 (3pm), when Everton visit Prenton Park for John Morrissey's testimonial match.

Supporters should note that Rovers' Nationwide League Division One visit to Barnsley, scheduled for Saturday, September 4, has been switched to the Friday evening.

Look out for the Tranmere Rovers Supporters' Association (TRSA) stand at the Wirral Show, New Brighton, on Saturday and Sunday.
