FROM hot air balloon to monocycle, Wirral's Green civic couple, Mayor Hugh Lloyd and Mayoress Shirley, continue to pioneer eco-friendly modes of transport and have just traded in the Mayoral limo for a new Jaguar which can run on gas.

They are pictured at Wirral Green Fair with children's entertainer Peter Duncan.

Other Green events at the weekend included cycle rides and the Win '99 Gateway to Wirral 10K Schools' Challenge at Wirral International Business Park. Official starters were Ray Stubbs, BBC Sports presenter from Wirral, and Century Radio DJ Mark Jones.

Wirral Investment Network worked with police, Wirral Council and Tranmere Rovers to organise the run for 500 school children around the new business park in Bromborough. The new Tulip factory acted as a base for organisers and their guests. Mayor Hugh Lloyd presented medals.
