Prime Minister Tony Blair is to issue a wake up call to UK companies about their failure to exploit commercial opportunities offered by the Interet.
Even big UK firms lag behind their US counterparts in creating on-line businesses, says a report commissioned by Mr Blauir on how to make the UK a leader in e-commerce.
The report cites evidence that German companies were pulling ahead of their UK rivals in exploiting the Internet and that France was catching up fast.
