A BIRKENHEAD man who claimed benefit and failed to declare his wife was working was ordered to serve 80 hours' community work by Wirral magistrates.

Patrick Dennis, 51, of Southdale Road, admitted four offences of making false representations to obtain benefit and had another four considered.

He wrongly collected over £800 from the DSS. He had to pay £75 costs.
