From 'Dissatisfied':-

REGARDING the letter from 'Concerned' (Mailbox, August 11th) who is experiencing delayed mail, our problem began several months ago, when my wife and I noticed mail from Cumbria was taking nearly a week to arrive.

We then had two instances where mail which we know was posted from Cumbria never arrived. I made a 'test postage' with a postcard bearing a first class stamp, and addressed to my home. This was posted in Wallasey a couple of months ago and, to this day, has never arrived.

I took the matter up with the Royal Mail Customer Service. I was sent an apology, a complimentary book of first class stamps and statistics as to how much mail is handled by Royal Mail each day.

However, the scenario is that, at the time of writing this letter, we are again waiting for mail to reach us from Cumbria, which was posted nearly a week ago.

What about getting to the root of the problem? Where is the missing mail? And why does it take nearly a week for some mail to arrive?
