From Angela Byrne:-
I MUST reply to the various letters (Mailbox, August 11th), especially the comment on horses and road tax.
Horses do not pollute the environment as cars do and, as most of the rural riding areas have been built upon, the only possible way to exercise a horse is by using public highways, though I am sure many horse owners would rather not. At present, the only quiet places available for riders to stretch their horse's legs properly is the beach or designated bridal paths.
Also, horses are fed on healthy grains and their droppings would not cause disease in the same manner as dog muck would - and they are good for your garden!
Enjoy the beauty of Wirral - and learn to compromise with each other. We would all soon moan if it was taken from us for yet another development!
