I HAVE a suggestion for Jack Hotchkiss (Mailbox, August 18th) regarding his problem with dog owners who are not cleaning up the mess in his locality.
Get your hands on a video camera! Record the whole thing. Make certain you get the dog doing its business, the owner's face and car registration number plate.
Most important of all, make certain that the said dog owners see you while you are recording it. If they don't clean up the mess, then take the film to your local police station.
That should soon have the desired effect. It's fantastic what you can achieve with a video camera these days.
