TRANMERE Rovers, in a statement issued to Mailbox on behalf of Chairman and Chief Executive Lorraine Rogers, make this reply to the criticism from 'Frustrated Tranmere Rovers Fan' and 'Disappointed':-
"The decision to withdraw the concession to the unemployed was taken by the previous management in the light of some serious abuse to the system that occurred during last season.
"Since your first reader highlighted the plight of the genuine unemployed Rovers' supporter, the club has researched other Nationwide League Division One clubs for their experiences.
"The results show that it is a Football industry problem with nearly all clubs having experienced abuse, resulting in only one or two clubs retaining their unemployed concessions.
"However, Tranmere Rovers is most sensitive to the issue, and your two readers make very valid points, particularly regarding the empty seats and the need for Rovers to encourage as many supporters as possible to Prenton Park.
"As a result, the club is keen to find a working solution to the problem, and continues to keep the matter under review."
