WITH the new V prefix registrations hitting the road this September, DVLA Sale of Marks is releasing details of its forthcoming range of W prefix personalised number plates in response to high levels of consumer interest.

The W prefix sales will go on sale on January 10, 2000, through the DVLA's Select Registrations telesales on (0870) 6000-142 with prices starting at a fully inclusive £399.

Byron Roberts, Marketing Manager for DVLA Sale of Marks, said: "The W prefix will be the first new vehicle registration of the 21st Century when it goes on the road from March 1, 2000. We have already received a great number of enquiries about the availability of our W prefix marks, suggesting that it will prove very popular amongst drivers in the new Millennium."

Additionally, in line with previous pricing strategy, DVLA Sale of Marks is reducing the price of some of its earlier Select Registrations ranges including T prefix marks, introduced in March this year.

From September 1, 1999, the starting price for the T prefix and the S prefix series will be reduced from £399 to £250, and the starting price for marks beginning T1, will be reduced from £999 to £500. Additionally, starting prices for the C prefix range will also be reduced by £100 to £399.

There are currently 14 prefix ranges available from DVLA Select Registrations offering drivers a choice of £7 million potential registration combinations. With nearly 2,000 personal numbers sold through the scheme each week, DVLA Sale of Marks has, to date, raised some £390 million for the treasury.
