WIRRAL Mayor Hugh Lloyd has asked the Globe to come to the aid of a woman anxious to trace relatives or former friends in the Wallasey area.

Margaret Andrews, nee Parrott, lives in Chesterfield and has just lost her husband. Now in her late 70s, she grew up in Egremont/Liscard area, in Ball Avenue, Dalmorton Road and Hale Road. She went to Manor Road School and was in the Chrysanthemum panto group in the early 30s. Mrs Andrews left the area during the war when her home was bombed.

Her grandfather was Alderman W. J. Bellis, a close friend of Wallasey's first Mayor, James T. Chester. She recalls the Chester's Shop in Atherton Street and has tried to trace his relatives. Apparently, one of Mrs. Andrews' brothers was friendly with a Tommy Chester, grandson of James T. Chester.

If anyone recalls Mrs Andrews and her family, or the Chesters, and they wish to contact her, they are asked to write care of the Mayor's Parlour, Town Hall, Wallasey, and Coun Lloyd will ensure the letters are forwarded.
