WIRRAL'S hidden theatre is to re-live an incredible decade of Beatles music before it is shared with our American cousins for one night only.

'The Beatles Musical Celebration' promises to take the audience at Pacific Road, Birkenhead, from the 'Cavern to the Rooftops' on Saturday at 8pm.

After that, writer, actor and musician Karl Lornie and his team will pack their stetsons and fly to Texas and then Guyana, South America, to spread their musical message.

The stopover in Texas will include Wirral's twin town of Midland, where Karl has been invited to inject some Merseyside culture into a huge music festival.

The tour will also include the extravaganza that is the Sergeant Pepper's Magical Mystery Trip backed by the Midland Odessa Symphony Orchestra.

The Sergeant Pepper album is the Beatles' most famous but was never played live by the band. Karl has addressed that little oversite complete with costumes and full orchestra in a fantastic show.

Karl said: "When we do Sergeant Pepper we do it all - which is quite wild!"

Wirral and Midland have been swapping talent for some time, which included a recent arts show in Birkenhead, and the Atlantic hopping is set to continue.

The touring party will do some workshops with local school children showing them how the two Beatles' shows are put together as part of the cultural exchange.

A Guyanan born surgeon has also forged links between Midland and Guyana. He and other colleagues fly to the country to give their services for free. So they have asked Karl's tour to be taken there for a Presidential ball and a huge festival.

The prospect of performing in front of thousands of people in Guyana does not seem to phase Karl. He's still excited about the show at Pacific Road.

Karl said: "We've got to squeeze in a lot of good songs but the thing is what do you leave out? You're going to upset at least someone."

His commitment to an authentic theatrical stage concert can be seen in the fact that usually Karl plays guitar right handed - for the show he plays left handed like Paul McCartney.

Karl said: "We are trying to recreate something that you can no longer see so why not do it properly. If you are recreating a show and part of the Mersey culture you've got to get it right."

The Pacific Road Theatre was chosen to house the show to help put this hidden treasure on the map.

Karl said: "It's a cool venue. Apart from the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton there is not a venue like this in Wirral."
