LIKE many other people in Wallasey, I have recently received the latest demand for Council Tax from Wirral Borough Council.
I was shocked at the level of increase and, to make matters worse, I understand that Wirral residents are now paying more than Liverpool.
One of the items that was not mentioned in the breakdown of how the council spends my money is the amount it costs to provide members of the Labour Cabinet with mobile phones. At a time when swimming pools are closing and when my streetlights are falling down, I would have thought the council had other priorities for spending our money. Obviously, in their case it's good to talk!
