UNILEVER UK has confirmed its commitment to Wirral.
Chairman Richard Greenhalgh met with Wirral South MP Ben Chapman at the House of Commons to reassure him of Unilever's continued presence in Port Sunlight.
Recently a number of jobs moved out of the area, particularly Unilever's Global IT Centre in Flintshire.
Mr Chapman said: "I have been reassured by Mr Greenhalgh of the importance of Port Sunlight to Unilever's future growth plans, fuelled by continued innovations, such as Persil Tablets and Comfort Easy Iron, while appreciating the ever present need for improved productivity and cost effectiveness."
Unilever remains an important employer in the North West with its research centre for laundry, deodorants, hair, oral care and household care based at Port Sunlight, alongside Lever Faberg's biggest European factory.
