JOHN Hayes was the overall winner of Poulton Victoria Golf Society's Past Captain's (one week Stableford) Competition.
On another excellent day for golf, the Competition, played at Arrowe Park Golf Course, produced a close encounter, with the low handicappers coming out on top again.
Hayes, the players' representative, playing off a handicap of seven, beat Alan Dunne, Society Secretary, who played off a handicap of six, by a single point.

Dunne, Bill Keelan, 29 pts; 13=: Keith Middleton, Kenny Easdown, Mark Wilde, 28 pts; 16: John S. Dunne, 26 pts; 17: Pat Higginson, 23 pts.
