TWO Wirral schools have teamed up to help kids get a better start.
Cole Street Primary School and Cathcart Street Primary School in Birkenhead have employed new staff and bought new equipment with the help of money from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund - a fund set up to narrow the gap between deprived neighbourhoods and the rest of the country.
The new staff will make sure that children are attending school regularly and punctually, as well as providing parental support and advice.
Mrs Chaderton, Head of Cole Street Primary, said: "Working with another school is wonderful, especially as it doesn't happen that often.
"The new staff will be able to identify children who have difficulties within school. We will be able to help them and their parents with the problems they encounter."
