PUPILS from Our Lady of Pity annexe school in Hoylake are pictured with potatoes they have been learning about as part of a project studying food production and healthy eating.
The school had entered a competition run by the British Potato Council, and the children, aged four and five, had grown their own crop.
Teachers say the youngsters enjoyed planting different fruits, vegetables and flowers and are looking forward to cooking and eating some of their produce.
