THE 29th Wirral Show - an annual weekend of fun-filled family entertainment taking place on New Brighton Promenade, is just three weeks away.
A host of spectacular attractions are waiting to be enjoyed over the course of the show, staged in the New Brighton dips on Saturday and Sunday, July 9 and 10.
Last year's show attracted more than a quarter of a million visitors, and its organisers hope to draw bigger crowds this year with a feast of entertainment on land and in the air.
Arena attractions include demonstrations by the 'Over The Top' motorcycle stunt display team, 'The Horsemen of the Apocalypse', an exhibition of falconery from Terry Large, a sheepdog display by Wirral Show regular Elaine Hill and a gundog and ferret display.
This year is the 60th anniversary of Victory in Europe and it is 65 years since the Battle of Britain. So, if you cast your eyes to the sky at certain times throughout the weekend you will see a Battle of Britain Memorial flight from Spitfire and Hurricane jets and a Sea King helicopter display.
There will also be military displays, music from the Blue Magnolia Jazz Orchestra and Caribbean bands, a Dutch organ from Holland, fairground, festival circus, song and dance from The Crazy Bears and lots more...
The Wirral Show is jointly organised by the Rotary, Round Table and Lions clubs of Wallasey, in partnership with Wirral Council.
The showground opens at 10.30am and promenade roads will be closed from 8am-6pm.
But don't worry, because there will be a bus at regular intervals from New Brighton Railway Station to the showground. Car parking is £4.
Charities, businesses and companies still wishing to book a stall for this year's show can contact Alan Robinson, the chair of the organising committee, by writing to PO Box 7, Moreton CH46 3TD or by phoning 677 8943.
