A MAN is being hunted by police after allegedly raping a woman as she left a Wirral nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 22-year-old was leaving the club in Argyle Street, Birkenhead, at 2am, and was walking towards a phonebox, when she was approached from behind.
The woman was forced down the side of an Indian restaurant where the offence took place.
The attacker is described as white with a large build, a bald head and 'sticky-out ears.'
The scene was preserved for further examination and police have stepped up patrols in the area. Anyone with information relating to the incident can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
