COUPLE FACE FRAUD CHARGES: A Hoylake couple facing fraud allegations were sent for Crown Court trial by District Judge Michael Abelson at Wirral Magistrates Court.

Nicholas Charles Swann, 41, and Heidi Maria O’Neill,36, both of Lake Road, Hoylake, were bailed to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on May 20.

They face five charges of committing fraud while occupying the position of Sales and Marketing Executive at Lexicraft Limited at Woodside Business Park they jointly abused the position intending to make gain of a lucrative business contract for themselves.

There is also one charge concerning alleged unauthorised access to a computer programme or data at the business park.

ASSAULT BY BEATING: District Judge Michael Abelson bailed a 22-year-old man for three weeks with a view to a possible police caution being administered.

Ashley Crosthwaite, of Newbury Way, Leasowe, is charged with assault by beating in Conway Street, Birkenhead, in February.

BANNED DRIVING ALLEGATION: Kirk Sean Eden, 36, of Rocklee Gardens, Little Neston, was sent for Crown Court trial by District Judge Michael Abelson at Wirral Magistrates Court.

He faces allegations of dangerous driving at Birkenhead last June, driving while disqualified and not having insurance cover.

He was bailed to appear at the higher court on May 20.

PUNCHED IN CLUB BRAWL: Police called to a minor disturbance after several men were asked to leave a Birkenhead night club saw a 24-year-old strike another male to the head, Magistrates were told by prosecutor Alan Currums.

Mr Currums said the attacked man walked away but the assailant, Darren Leslie Amis, was clearly drunk and was arrested.

Amis, of Hogarth Drive, Prenton, admitted threatening behaviour.

He told police at the time he was quite drunk and could not remember having an argument or attacking anybody.

Amis was fined £250 and had to also pay £85 costs.

FINED FOR CANNABIS: A 35-year-old man stop-checked by police who had been called to a disturbance had cannabis resin on him, Wirral Magistrates heard.

Darren William Lavin of Hillburn Drive, Birkenhead, admitted unlawful possess of the Class B controlled drug.

He was fined £60 plus £55 costs.

DRUNK AT ASDA: Police were called to Wallasey Asda store on a report the behaviour of a 22-year-old man drunken man was causing concern, prosecutor Alan Currums told Magistrates.

He said Stephen Jason Lively who was lying on the floor of the store refused to leave. He clenched his fist and became abusive and was arrested.

Lively of Dover Close, Birkenhead, admitted being drunk and disorderly at Asda in Seaview Road, Wallasey.

He was fined £60 plus £40 costs.

GUILTY OF ATTACK: Scott Dennis Lynchy, 20, of The Birches, Wallasey, was ordered to serve 50 hours of unpaid work by Magistrates.

He pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Borough Road, Wallasey, in early March.

He was ordered to pay £95 costs plus £50 compensation to the complainant.

DRUG FOUND: A young man detained by police produced cannabis from his pocket, Magistrates were told.

Lewis Richard Phelan, 21, of Old Chester Road, Rock Ferry, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of the drug.

He was said to be in breach of a suspended prison sentence for another, disimilar matter.

Magistrates ordered him to serve 20 hours of unpaid work for the breach and added 40 hours for the drugs offence.

The suspended sentence remains in force.
