The following applications for alcohol licences will be considered by Wirral Council's licensing sub-committee on Wednesday, November 18.

Jack's Newsagents, Broadway, Bebington.

Name of applicant: Rajakumar Kathiramalii.

Mr Kathiramalii has applied for a licence to sell alcohol seven days a week, from 6am to 11pm.

Objections have been made by 113 local residents who are against the application due to anti-social behaviour occurring near the premises.

Ward councillor Sheila Clarke has been requested by the lead petitioner to speak at the hearing on their behalf.

Hoylake Service Station, Birkenhead Road, Hoylake.

Name of applicant: Michael Longshaw.

Mr Longshaw has applied for a licence to supply alcohol seven days a week from 6.30am to 10pm.

Six representations have been received from nearby residents relating to public nuisance caused by youths near the service station.

A petition has also been received signed by 311 local residents who are against the application.

But a petition in support of the application has been received by the local authority signed by 99 people.

Stanleys, Stanley Lane, Eastham.

Name of applicant: Lisa Still.

Ms Still has applied to lengthen the hours during which alcohol can be served.

The application requests that the current licence be extended from the existing 11pm by two hours to 1am from Monday to Saturday, and to 12.30am on Sundays.

64 objections have been received from local residents.

The representations relate to public nuisance caused by noise due to customers leaving the premises at a late hour.

A letter has also been received from ward councillor Phil Gilchrist, who supports the objectors.

But 192 letters and a petition containing 143 signatures have been submitted in support of the changes.

Following representations received from Merseyside Police, the following conditions have been agreed with the applicant.

*Maximum Occupancy to be set.

*At least two safety stewards to be trained.

*CCTV to be installed at the premises and must meet the minimum specification as specified by Wirral Council, be well maintained and visual images to be kept for a period of 31 days.

*Signs to be displayed at all entrances and exits asking patrons to leave the premises quietly.

*No smoking to the front of the premises, customers to use rear dedicated area.

*Outside area to be cleared of all customers drinking alcohol by 9.30pm.

Merseyside Police have subsequently withdrawn their objection.
