WIRRAL actress Pauline Daniels is set to appear in a new play which premieres in Liverpool next month.
Joining the Birkenhead-based star in Ghost Story - which will be staged at Actors Studio in Seel Street, Liverpool, from November 23-28 - is BBC Radio Merseyside presenter and actor Roger Phillips.
The play was written by Hoylake-born Phil Pinnington, a former presenter and producer on the station.
He told the Globe: "It's a great thrill to have Pauline and Roger in the play.
"Pauline's starred in productions at the Royal Court, Empire and Playhouse this year. Roger has become Mr Merseyside.
"I first worked with him as his producer when he joined Radio Merseyside 30 years ago."
Pauline Daniels, whose many stage roles include Willy Russell's Shirley Valentine, said: "I liked the play as soon as I read it and knew it would be right for the Actors' Studio".
But she warned theatregoers: "It's a mystery which becomes a Ghost Story and, finally, a tale of terror.
"I hope the audience will thoroughly enjoy the night out and be prepared to be scared."
