TRANMERE Rovers' League One promotion campaign suffered a further setback on Saturday when they were beaten 1-0 by Hartlepool.

Peter Harley scored the only game of the match for the hosts at Victoria Park in front of 3,428 spectators. It was the 11th league game Rovers have lost this season.

Manager Les Parry will be hoping his squad pick up crucial points this Saturday, October 31, when they take on Swindon Town at Prenton Park. The game starts at 3pm.

Yesterday's game came a week after Rovers beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 on home turf.

It was their first win in three games and the mixture of relief and euphoria followed weeks of doom and despair.

But Rovers still have plenty of progress to make before they can contemplate a campaign free of the spectre of relegation.
