NO need to worry - these Wolves and their parents were running along the Wirral Way from Willaston Hadlow Road Station, to Parkgate to raise funds for their Willaston based football club, ‘Wolves JFC’.

The fastest time was just over 19 minutes for the 3 mile course, recorded by father and son Steve and Joe Ellis from Willaston.

As chairman Phil Raynor officially started the race he said: "It’s fantastic to see so many Wolves and parents and we look forward to making this an annual event.

"We have been a club now for 12 months and have seen lots of success and team development.

"We look forward to welcoming new players to help strengthen the club in under 11’s, under 10’s and under 9’s."

Wolves JFC’s home ground is on the Johnston Recreation Ground in Willaston village.

The expanding range of teams includes boys and girls, currently one under 9, two under 10 and one under 11 teams.

They train at Neston Recreation Centre on a Wednesday evening at 6.00 p.m. and are still welcoming new members.
