Re: “Street football should be banned.”
I was glad to see this letter in the Globe on April 22.
I was starting to think I was the only one bothered by the anti-social behaviour on the streets of Wallasey.
I totally agree with everything said and just wish there was more we as individuals could do to tackle the problem.
I am a mother-of-two and I can safely say that I will not be allowing my children to play out on the street.
I feel it is completely irres-ponsible of parents. Both our car and house have been damaged by footballs or cricket balls.
I am tired of having to ask children to move away from my house, I am met with an attitude and hostility.
Children are being allowed to stay out late into the night and I have two very young children who often struggle to get to sleep due to the noise.
Parents need to take responsibility for their children and their behaviour.
I am 100% for a ban on any ball games in residential streets and think a curfew wouldn’t go a miss either.
“Wallasey Mum.”
