A WIRRAL primary school headteacher was rushed to hospital after she had a suspected heart attack during an Ofsted inspection.
Sarah McFarlane, head of Chapelhill Primary School in Moreton, fell ill on Wednesday morning on the second day of the inspection at the school on Stavordale Road.
Ofsted said it had immediately paused the inspection following the incident. The inspectorate wished Ms McFarlane a "speedy recovery".
Leading Learners Trust confirmed in a statement to families that Ms McFarlane is being treated in a local hospital and is recovering well.
Chapelhill Primary reopened in 2023 as an academy under the trust after the former Sandbrook Primary closed.
The trust said it would provide further updates as more information becomes available.
A spokesperson for Ofsted said: "Our thoughts are with Mrs McFarlane and the school community. We wish Mrs McFarlane a speedy recovery.
"We began an inspection of Chapelhill primary school yesterday. Upon hearing the news this morning, we immediately paused the inspection."
