AHEAD of the upcoming August bank holiday weekend, Wirral Council has confirmed whether any bin collections will be impacted. Many councils across the country often delay bin collections around bank holidays, potentially causing confusion and frustration for residents.
Wirral Council has told the LDRS that unlike during the Christmas period, bin collections will not be impacted by the August bank holiday Monday. If Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or New Year’s Day fall on a weekday, bin collection teams will collect waste over the weekends rather than the bank holidays themselves.
However, residents can rest assured that no such disruption will be caused by next week’s bank holiday Monday.
This means if your bin is due to be collected on the day, if will be collected as usual.
