PUBS across the Wirral will be able to keep the drinks flowing into the early hours on Monday after the government announced a one-off 5am extension for England’s World Cup clash with Mexico.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer confirmed venues in England and Wales can stay open until 5am so fans can watch the full last‑16 tie from Mexico City, which kicks off at 1am UK time.
Chains including Greene King have already confirmed hundreds of venues will open through the night.
