A WIRRAL pub will move to a new operator from September after the current management announced plans to leave.
The Brown Horse in Neston announced the "difficult decision" in a post on social media, citing "personal, health and family reasons".
Current staff will stay on at the the pub as the post reassured punters the "familiar faces you know and love" will remain.
Manager James said: "After much thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to leave the Brown Horse.
"I had hoped to share this news with you in person before the sign went up, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible.
"I’m leaving for personal, health and family reasons.
"Please know that the pub isn’t changing. From September, we’ll have a new operator, but our amazing staff will all be staying – the familiar faces you know and love.
"From the bottom of my heart, thank you. It’s been an absolute privilege to be part of this incredible pub and community. If I’ve achieved just one thing, it’s helping give this historic pub back to the wonderful people who have kept it going for over 150 years.
"I’ve made so many memories and met some truly amazing people. Your support and loyalty have meant the world to me.
"The pub’s standards and policies will continue under the new operator. Any individuals who are currently barred should not expect those decisions to change.
"Thank you all once again for everything. I’ll treasure my time at the Brown Horse forever.
Please continue to support the pub and the brilliant team who make it so special. Thank you."
