Peel Waters has secured planning permission for an £18 million phase of development at MEA Park West, part of the wider Wirral Waters regeneration scheme.
The project is set to deliver more than 170,000 sq ft of employment space and more than 200 jobs.
The site will become a modern industrial, manufacturing, and logistics hub within the Liverpool City Region Freeport.
Richard Mawdsley, Wirral Waters Development Director at Peel Waters, said: "Securing planning consent for this next phase at Mea Park West is a significant milestone and an important step in bringing forward much-needed, high-quality employment space at Wirral Waters.
"Mea Park is part of the Liverpool City Region Freeport and offers a highly connected, well-planned environment for modern businesses.
"This approval strengthens our ability to respond to growing demand for logistics and industrial space, while supporting Wirral’s wider economic ambitions.
"This scheme is also about unlocking the long-term potential.
"By remediating and preparing the land, we are creating the foundations for sustained investment, future development, and high-quality job creation.
"We are committed to delivering places that drive inclusive growth, and this is another clear example of momentum building across Wirral Waters."
The first phase includes a 44,982 sq ft industrial and logistics building with office space, 53 parking spaces, upgraded estate roads, and an electricity substation.
Cycle, motorcycle, and disabled parking spaces are also included in the plans.
The development will include remediation of a former industrial site and prepare surrounding plots for future occupier-led schemes.
Located to the east of Wallasey Bridge Road in Birkenhead, the site sits within a designated employment growth zone and is backed by Wirral Council.
Councillor Paula Basnett, leader of Wirral Council, said: "This development represents another important step forward in bringing investment, jobs and opportunities to our borough, and on top of that, it signifies that Wirral is open for business.
"Wirral Council is committed to supporting business growth, and Mea Park West, located within the Liverpool City Region Freeport, will deliver high-quality employment space while transforming a currently underused dockside site."
She said the development will build on previously approved plans, including the transformation of the nearby Mobil building, and help attract new businesses to the area.
Wirral Waters is one of the UK’s largest regeneration programmes, led by Peel Waters and spanning a 30-year delivery period.
