Man arrested after reported stabbing in Neston

A 24-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after reports of a stabbing in Neston.

At around 7.15pm on Tuesday, June 9, police were called to reports of a man with a knife near Raby Park Road.

Local officers, supported by armed police, were deployed to the scene and swiftly arrested a 24-year-old man from the area.

Following a search, officers spoke to a number of people present and at the time, there were no reports of any injuries.

However, at around 11am on Wednesday, June 10, police received a report that a man had been assaulted during the incident and had sustained minor injuries to his hand and back.

Detective Inspector Rupert Morrey said: “I would like to reassure the local community that this appears to be an isolated incident, and enquiries remain ongoing.

“Anyone with any information or video footage is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101, or at www.cheshire.police/tell-us, quoting IML 2347113.”

“Information can also be reported anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.”

The 24-year-old man has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
