A WIRRAL piano teacher is celebrating ten years of teaching.
Melanie Worthington, 62, from Heswall, has helped hundreds of people master the art of playing the piano.
She says playing the piano has improved her mental health and has helped her students in the same way.

She tailors the lessons to suit the needs of her students, whether they want to learn for pleasure or to reach the next level.
Melanie said: "It’s been a wonderful ten years of teaching and I’ve met such lovely people — from 18-year-olds who want a career as a pianist to 80-year-olds who have never fulfilled their dream of learning to play because life got in the way.
"It’s so rewarding to see the joy in people as they develop and learn to play beautiful music — but the feedback about how it’s improved their wellbeing has been so heartwarming."

She said: "Combining my coaching skills with my piano skills, it turns out I was designed to be a piano teacher and it’s been so rewarding to see how it’s changed people’s lives."
One of her students, Brian, a 74-year-old retired fire officer, started lessons with Melanie after suffering a mini-stroke.

"My friend recommended piano lessons as this had helped her with coping with bereavement.
"Today I can drink a cup of tea with my left hand without spilling it.
"My anxiety is under control, I can read music and play tunes on the piano with both hands.

Brian is just one example of the hundreds of people who Melanie has helped through the magic of piano playing.
Many of her reviews reveal success stories of people finally unlocking their hidden talent, fulfilling their lifelong dream, gaining newfound confidence and overcoming illnesses.
