POLICE have seized a drone that was found in a temporary flight restriction zone imposed as part of the policing operation while HMS Prince of Wales is docked at Liverpool Cruise Terminal.

On Wednesday (December 4) Police and Ministry of Defence (MOD) officers spotted a drone in the restricted air space above Liverpool city centre. The pilot was located and the drone has been seized. The offence will now be investigated.

A statement from Merseyside Police read: "The restriction will remain in place until 10am on Monday (December 9), meaning it will be an offence for any unmanned aircraft to fly below 2,000 ft above sea level in the designated area (pictured), without the explicit permission of Merseyside Police.
