POLICE  issued CCTV pictures of man they wanted to talk to after an alleged 'upskirting' incident at a Wirral supermarket.

Upskirting is an informal term for a type of voyeurism when someone uses equipment like a camera or mobile phone to take photos or videos underneath a person's clothes, without their permission.

Police received a report on Monday, August 26 that a man allegedly took images up a woman’s skirt in Lidl on Thursby Road in Bromborough at about 3pm.

The suspect then left the shop and staff called the police to report what happened.

Since the incident, extensive inquiries have been carried out and police this week shared two images of a man who it is believed could have information about the incident.

On Thursday, October 24, police confirmed a man has come forward and is helping police with enquires.

Detective Inspector Andy Schofield said: "These types of incidents are totally abhorrent and will not be tolerated in our communities.

"We understand the distress and concern that such incidents cause and we are determined to find the person responsible.

“We take all reports of this nature very seriously and we are keen to speak with the man featured in the images to help with our enquiries.

“We believe he could have information to assist our investigation.

"I am appealing to the man featured in this image, or anyone who recognises him to please contact us.
