THE investigation into an “attack” near a Birkenhead pub is continuing, police say.
At around 3.40pm on Saturday (August 31) it was reported that a man was attacked outside a pub by two men who are believed to have made off on electric bikes.
The alleged assault happened on Oliver Street East, near the Fireman’s Arms pub in Birkenhead.
At the time of the incident, police had not identified the victim and said "extensive enquiries” were ongoing to do so and to ensure that he was safe and well.
Today, (Wednesday, September 18) Merseyside Police said the investigation “remains ongoing” and urged people with information to come forward.
A force spokesperson told the Globe: “The investigation remains ongoing and we would continue to ask for anyone with info to come forward.”
"If you witnessed the assault or were passing by and may have captured anything on CCTV, dashcam or other devices, please come forward with reference 570 and we can establish exactly what took place.”
Anyone with information about criminality and disorder is asked to DM @MerPolCC, message ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre on Facebook’ or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111.
