TWO police officers were injured after their vehicle crashed into another car in Wallasey.
Merseyside Police confirmed that emergency services rushed to the area following the collision last night (Tuesday, September 3).
Pictures shared on social media showed the police car lying on its side and members of the public apparently helping those inside get out of the vehicle.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "At around 9.30pm, Merseyside Police, North West Ambulance Service and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to a collision involving a police car and a second vehicle close to Wallasey Town Hall on Buchanan Road.
"Two officers sustained what are believed to be minor injuries and will be taken to hospital to be checked as a precaution. The occupants of the second vehicle were uninjured.
"A road closure has been put in place on Buchanan Road so please avoid the area while we deal with the incident."
