A TEENAGER had his bike stolen while he was buying a birthday card for his mum in Prenton.
At around 6.30pm yesterday (Monday, September 2) it was reported that a 13-year-old boy's bright red Trek bike was stolen from the bike rack outside Sainsbury’s on Woodchurch Road by three males.
Writing on Facebook, the teen's mother, said: "This is my 13-year-old son's bike that was his pride and joy and he had only gone in the shop to buy me a birthday card."
Police are now appealing for information following the theft.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information following a reported bike theft in Prenton yesterday, Monday 2 September.
“It was reported that at around 6.30pm three males stole a bright red Trek bike from the bike rack outside Sainsbury's on Woodchurch Road.
“Enquires are being carried out including CCTV enquiries.
“Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 24000759332.
“You can also pass information via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
