A WOMAN in her 70s was forced to “wrestle” her handbag back during an attempted robbery in Liscard.
At around 11.15am on Saturday, July 13 it was reported that a man approached a woman aged in her 70s outside Liscard Stop and Shop, on Wallasey Road, and took her handbag.
The woman was able to wrestle the handbag back from the man and he left the scene on foot.
Since the incident, extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out and Merseyside Police are now in a position to issue an image of man who they believe could have information.
Detective Inspector Andy Schofield said: “To target a woman aged in her 70s in such an aggressive manner is appalling and won’t be tolerated.
“I would appeal to the man pictured to please come forward, or if you recognise him please get in touch, because we believe he could have information to assist our investigation.”
